As a research school COBRA offers an extensive educational programme to all of its PhD students who have a 4 year affiliation with COBRA. Together with the supervisor every PhD student will write a training and supervision plan. The programme consists of Master courses and specialized courses organized by COBRA, the faculties of Electrical Engineering and Physics (Proof-programme) and external partners. All parts of the programme are also open to every postdoc affiliated with COBRA.
The educational programme is aimed at developing and expanding the professional and personal expertise of the PhD students. It consists of a wide range of workshops and training sessions for the development of general knowledge and skills, tailored to the different stages of a PhD research project. On the one hand it is aimed at acquiring skills to successfully complete the thesis and on the other hand at enhancing future career prospects. The total programme will encompass 15 ECTS, distributed over the following areas:

Courses concerning the development of PhD skills shall be followed preferably at the start of the PhD project, just as the participation in a summer/winter school whereas courses on personal skill development will typically be attended somewhat later in the PhD project. Scientific/technical and the COBRA capita selecta courses can be attended whenever needed.
