Thank you for your interest in our post-masters TU/e Stan Ackermans Institute (SAI) program Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The 2-years program is leading towards a "Professional Doctorate in Engineering" (PDEng).
The program Information and Communication Technology is open to recently graduated M.Sc students from top universities only. To be more specific, application is only open to those candidates holding an M.Sc degree (at least 2 years post-B.Sc program) that is recognized by the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education (see www.nuffic.nl) in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics.
Also an actual IELTS English test, not older than 1 year, is required (see www.ielts.org for more information about this test). The minimum requirement is an average result of (minimum) 6.5, whereas none of the sub-results (reading, writing, listening and speaking) should be less than a score of 6.
Attached you will find some relevant information about our program. Part of this information is available at the SAI web-side: http://www.sai.tue.nl/ ; you will find here more specific information concerning your request.
Admission standards are high in order to maintain the quality of the program. Good marks, technical background, possible work experience, motivation and personality are decisive factors. The number of vacancies is limited. Acceptance is fully depending on the availability of projects funded by industry.
Unfortunately, the SAI-ICT Management Team receives letters from applicants holding a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering only. These applications cannot be taken into consideration. Exception is if the applicant has about five years of industrial experience in design-oriented projects.
In principle application is possible any time. However, non-EU members are encouraged to apply before December 31st (to be admitted September 1st) or May 31st (to be admitted January 15th). In any case please contact the Director of the Program SAI-ICT.
When you come to The Netherlands please bring along an officially translated legalized/verified birth certificate (not older than 6 months). Please check at the Dutch Embassy what kind of stamps you need on these documents. In case of an appointment you have to show this birth certificate at Eindhoven Stadskantoor (Town Hall).
The program does not supply application forms. An application letter with attachments including necessary documents such as CV, (certified) copies of your diplomas, list of subjects and obtained results, two letters of recommendation, result of IELTS test and other references can be sent (by mail or e-mail) to:
