Electrical Energy Systems (EES)

Chairman: prof.ir. W.L. Kling

The mission of the group EES is the support of the supply and efficient use of electrical energy through research projects enabling the understanding and development of the technology needed.
Driving forces behind research and the development of the technologies for energy supply and use are:

  • The call for a sustainable society
  • The liberalisation and resulting competition in the energy market
  • The evolution in power electronics towards higher power ratings

The group EES contributes in the field of electric energy supply and use through three main research activities: EMC, Intelligent Networks and Pulsed Power. These research subjects are chosen on the basis of the current needs of society and industry, the competencies of our group built in history and the synergy with our colleagues in and outside TU/e.
