RSI / CANS

Complaints of Arms, Neck and Schoulder (in short: CANS) is a collective for complaints of arms, neck, shoulders, wrists and hands. These complaints are generally caused by repeating the same movement for too long, too forced, over and over again. A faulty setup of your workstation, a wrong sitting position and stress are contributing factors.

Special chairs (Martinstoll) have been purchased for the use of students. You will find these chairs at several locations in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

All students should receive instruction on how to prevent RSI/CANS, as ordered by the Labour Inspectorate. Instruction takes place by means of workshops and an extensive trainingprogram.
