Master Programs '11/'12

Various Master Programs are offered by the Department of Electrical Engineering

  • the Master program in Electrical Engineering (120 ECTS)
  • the  Master program in Electrical Engineering for polytechnic (HBO) graduates (30+120 ECTS)
  • the Master program Broadband Telecommunication Technologies (120 ECTS)
  • NEW in September '11 the Master program Care and Cure (120 ECTS)

All master programs are described in the Master Education Guide 2011-2012.

In the Master program in Electrical Engineering you specialise in electrical engineering and information technology at a state-of-the-art research level.

The Master program in Electrical Engineering for polytechnic graduates is similar to the Master program in electrical engineering (with a few small adjustments), but it is preceded by a so-called deficiency programme of 30 ECTS.

If you are currently a polytechnic student (HBO) you may consider a HBO-minor.

The Master program in Broadband Telecommunication Technologies (special Master's track) focuses on Broadband Telecommunication and integrates knowledge from the fields of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering and Technology Management.

The Master program in Care and Cure (special Master's track)  integrates knowledge from the fields of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Applied Physics, Control Engineering and Signal Processing.

For information about admission see the specific programs.

Purpose of the Master programs
The purpose of each of our Masters degree courses is to enable students to be able to work independently on complex research and design projects with the ability to rethink existing concepts and develop new ones. In the final phase of the program students will be able to present the results of their work internationally. All the above mentioned Master programs have a similar structure: a compulsory part, electives, one or more internships and finally a graduation project in which the student demonstrates his/her engineering ability to a high standard. Also read Master qualifications.

All Master programs are taught in the English language. For all our foreign students please see the  EE Information Guide for international students.

The Department of Electrical  Engineering also participates in  the Masters: Automotive Technology,  Systems & Control, Embedded Systems, Sustainable Energy Technology and Medical Engineering.
